Summer Solstice Flower Mandala & Acupuncture Sesh

Join us at Hawthorn Holistic Health for a nourishing evening of flowers, acupuncture, meditation, nourishment, and seasonal connection in honor of the Summer Solstice. Together, we will co-create a living flower mandala using fresh blooms, herbs, mushrooms, seeds, and natural elements inspired by the vibrant energy of early summer and the Fire element.

Across many cultures and traditions, mandalas have been created as symbols of wholeness, balance, prayer, reflection, and connection to the natural world. The process of building a mandala can become a form of moving meditation — an opportunity to slow down, create with intention, and enter a more grounded and present state through color, texture, pattern, and the quiet language of plants. Working collaboratively with natural materials invites mindfulness, creativity, beauty, and a deeper awareness of the season unfolding around us.

Following the mandala creation, guests will settle into a restorative community acupuncture and guided meditation experience designed to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, reflection, and connection. Treatments will focus on calming the mind, opening the heart, and aligning with the expansive energy of the season.

Throughout the evening, Dr. Lindsay Chimileski will share gentle teachings on the symbolism and energetics of the plants woven into the mandala, creating a grounded and sensory experience that blends creativity, ritual, and holistic care.

The Medicine of Growing Your Own Medicine

June 6th

This workshop is an invitation to return to a more grounded, connected way of working with herbs—one that begins not with a bottle, but with the soil.

Growing your own medicine offers something beyond the plants themselves. It brings a sense of rhythm, presence, and quiet satisfaction that comes from tending to something over time. Getting your hands in the soil can be deeply regulating, while also reconnecting you to the natural cycles that support both plant and human health.

This offering is divided into two parts on June 6th. You are welcome to attend one or both.

Part one will take place from 10:00–11:00am at Hawthorn Holistic Health and will be a traditional, discussion-based class focused on nine medicinal herbs that are easy to grow, harvest, and work with here in New England. You’ll learn how these plants support everyday wellness, along with simple, practical ways to incorporate them into your life through teas and infusions, tinctures, herbal salts, infused vinegars, and culinary use.

Part two will take place from 11:30–12:30pm at Edgerton Community Garden in New Haven, about 15 minutes from the clinic. This small group experience will be held at Dr. Lindsay’s garden plot, where we will step into the living apothecary—walking the space, seeing these plants in their natural growing environment, and engaging with them through sight, smell, taste, and touch. This portion is intentionally intimate and we ask that participants be respectful of the shared garden space and the other gardeners tending their plots.

Across both sessions, this workshop blends education with direct experience. Beyond their medicinal properties, we will also explore what it means to build a relationship with these plants—developing familiarity, trust, and an inner sense of how and when to work with them.

Each participant will leave with 2–3 medicinal herb seedlings of their choice, based on availability, offering a tangible starting point for cultivating your own garden apothecary. Additional seedlings and starter plants will be available for purchase in limited quantities.

This workshop is designed to leave you feeling more confident, connected, and inspired to grow and work with your own herbal allies in a way that feels natural and sustainable. Because herbs come from the soil, not the mailman. Reconnecting with herbs as living plants and allies, not just products. Herbs bring more healing when they are grown, touched, smelled, tasted, and known.

In this Sound Healing + Acupuncture session, carefully selected acupuncture points support the smooth flow of Qi while the resonant tones of crystal bowls and chimes guide the nervous system into deep relaxation. Together these therapies create a restorative space for the body to release tension, reset, and align with the expanding rhythm of the season.

Yoga Classes with Kami

WEDNESDAYS AT 6PM

These are intentionally small, cozy classes, capped at 9 participants, creating a calm and supportive environment to practice together. A minimum of 3 participants is needed for the class to run. To give us time to prepare the space, the class must reach the minimum at least one hour before start time, so registration closes 60 minutes prior.
